Yay it's my first car technically. Drove a busted ass 99 Ford Escort for 7 years, time to move on.
    Sooo...

Here it is! 2009 Ford Focus SE w/45,000 miles on it for $10,999
    KBB value is $12,700 :eek
The thing is beautiful, mint, smells like new car still :24:

Carfax came back fine, new tires, and pretty dark tints. At first I thought the tints would look to...um..."hood", but it's awesome. So proud of my baby!

Can't wait to take more shots but I signed the paperwork at dusk and had to rush in to work this morning.

I think I got a pretty good deal!
They're offering me a 3 year, 36,000 mile warranty at the dealership for $790.
    Think I should take it??

Ooh you should do it! I think buying "new-used" is the best bargain with a car. I bought my car last year, and got super lucky - it was a 2008 model with less than 35K miles on it. It allowed me to get some of the features I wanted (leather interior, heated seats, steering wheel radio/music controls, etc), but without paying a super high premium for it. :)

I'd say "no" to the warranty, but more wiser folks here should pass along their advice.

Nice car...good deal. I hope it serves you well!

For now it's name is, indeed, Ninjacar. I also have an affinity for 'Vader' lol.
*don't judge me, I want to name it, even my GPS has a name :24:

I'm waffling on the warranty. I have powertrain left until 70k miles but idk.
    I really don't want to spend another $790, I guess it's a gamble.

    LOL tiny
It's definitely a car meant for a driver and not a ton of adult passengers, because the back seats are pretty small
    Front seats are extremely spacious

    No innuendos! :24:

We've got some of those vehicles for company cars. Although I driven them from time to time (as that vehicle isn't my primary) and I'm not a big fan of extended warranties on cars, from what the other guys tell me who drive them, I'd buy the extended warranty.

That's a great deal!!! I'm so happy for you! :)

As far as the warranty goes typically you can work them down on the cost, so I would tell them if they give it to you for $300 you'll take it. I wouldn't pay any more than that.

I did a good bit of research before buying this car, and the 2009 is considered a pretty reliable one. The 2007 on the other hand, is not. I feel comfortable about this car but I'm a pretty cautious person and it's tough for me to decide if I'm better off gambling on a potentially large repair cost or on a large warranty cost lol.

I'm the kind of person that would definitely get the warranty. I just hate getting caught off guard by unexpected blows to my savings. I'd rather pay some money up front and have the safety net/peace of mind... it's why I pay more for insurance than I probably need to, I wanted really good coverage.

If you did your research and feel comfortable, save the money.

They normally will get you for labor anyways which normally isn't covered under extended warranty programs unless specified as such.

We have the Fusions, NOT the Focus's, my mistake.

there's no feet prints on the windshield yet
Now you need 2 15 inch woofers for the back seat

I see the 2009's have trouble with uneven tire wear, otherwise there's not a lot of group complaints. Of course that means nothing for my car, anything could happen!

I have until Saturday to decide, I'll mull it over.

    Last question:
Would you drive this car 600 miles round trip 4 times a year additional to daily use or is that "too much wear and tear" where you'd consider renting for those trips?

My dad says I should keep renting to visit my boyfriend in Toronto, and my coworkers think he's batshit.

OMG drive it! That's what you bought it for....why put the extra money into renting? 2400 miles in a year, over and above regular use...pfft, that's nothing.

I'd put 200 miles on my car every weekend to visit my ex, never gave it a 2nd thought, and that was with a 2003 Ford Focus.
