There's this show on MTV (I'm thinking it's a version of their show Real Life) and it's documenting three or four people - in their early 20's - who are scared to face the real world. One girl sells nudy pics of herself on the internet to make herself feel better and have more self confidence. She says she has social anxiety and could never date or get a real job. Some guy even pays her rent! I think she shows him things on the internet. Like a virtual stripper!! Another girl sings and performs on Second Life, but is starting to be agoraphobic, and won't sing in front of anyone in real life. Which is a shame because she is really good. Another is scared to talk to guys in real life. She only talks to them on the internet. When they ask to see her whole body, she tells them no - that she doesn't show it. She doesn't show it because she's scared she's fat, but by not showing it, she is basically telling them she is fat. (Stupid yeah? But I am so with her!!!) So anyways - I just wanted to say - go out!!! See the world!!! Talk to other people like you would want to be talked to, they are human just like you after all. They won't bite....well most won't. Just go out and try it. Anyone here afraid to face the real world because of some issues? Want to come clean with it? Willing to admit it? Maybe we can all show our boobs - I mean fat bellies and make ourselves feel better.
