Need opinions

I am crocheting a scarf for a friend who has been trying to get it done for four years now, and I'm getting near the end.

He gave me some room for doing what I think works best, and I'm struggling because I feel like he has something in mind but doesn't know how to express it.

I'm doing large sections of grey and navy, alternating. He wants fringe on the end and all I've been told is to make a LOT of fringe.

I don't know whether to end with two greys or a grey and a navy. And then do I use both colors in the fringe? Or if I end with two greys, should I just do navy fringe? I asked him, and got a non-answer answer... sigh.

I found a few pics that have some of the ideas. Can y'all let me know which one(s) you like most?

I can only see the first and last picture, so I can't really help. I would do both colors for the fringe, though.

I think number two it is. That way its blended better and not so blunt.
