Default Commenting on the Penn State Developments from Last Week

03:22:09PM (DST) Sunday,July 15,2012. As you may know Penn State drama is back in the news this week You've seen the mug shots along with Mr. Paterno. His statue is now at the forefront of a decision to remove it. We've sure forgotten in a hurry what he has done for Penn State and college football as a whole. Sure this is the biggest fall from grace in American history let alone college football...but we have to remember something good about JoePa. Me personally ? I'm going to remember him as a football icon, knowing the statue may be taken away. Will Penn State survive with what integrity it has left or to start with ? Yep. They're ready for the kickoff of 2012 season.

I'll remember him as someone who felt football and Penn State's reputation was more important than the safety of children.

I wondered if Joe Paterno ever said to himself about the 1998 scandal(first incident as we know it) with Sandusky...
" I hope this stuff doesn't sneak up and bite me in the aspirin. " ?
He had to think he should of done something instead of putting a lid on it.

    Some more on Penn State

US college sport authorities have fined Penn State University $60m (£39m) in the wake of child sex abuse perpetrated by a long-serving football coach.
The university - a famous US football schools - will be banned from competing for honours for four years, and lose all wins from 1998-2011.
The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) said the punishments were "corrective and punitive".
Assistant coach Jerry Sandusky was found guilty of 45 counts of sex abuse.

yeah and that guy in Colorado was a nice guy too I heard

Paterno enabled a pedophile. There is no good side to him. He made his mark based on PS being such a moral honest place to play. He was exposed as a fraud and I am glad his statute and records are gone. He was a phoney and a disgrace to the game.

He flushed all his accomplishments when his personal agenda and protecting someone he considered a friend became paramount. I was never a fan but he has turned out to be far worse than I suspected.

He said it best, I'll take that as my own personal statement.

Giving it some thought, Joe Paterno was not convicted of anything. Strange enough, the DA who handled the case back then isn't around to answer any questions.

The NCAA comes in, going strictly off of someone else's report, comes in and punishes the university to the point where they might as well as given the university a "death penalty".

Don't get me wrong, PSU should be punished, but exactly what rules did the university break of the NCAA?

Ultimately I'm not a fan of the NCAA because I personally feel like they are a bunch of self serving hypocrites who want to protect their own interests and salaries.
