I dunno AA, I'm with retro on this one (though not quite as vehemently ). The knee-on-knee hit was pretty cheap on Brown's part.

Did you see Doan's interview after the game? It was kind of funny because he was trying not to get himself into trouble with his comments but boy was he PISSED.

Oh, and I think the Rangers are pretty much done. NJ won tonight and I don't think the Rangers have enough steam to come back and win two elimination games.

I was pretty surprised, honestly, when I saw the interview. I've never seen him like that before. People can say it's because the team is full of sore losers all they want, but Doan's been on a relatively sucky team his whole career. He's used to losing, and a lot. He's not mad about losing, he's mad about the way in which it happened. I can't really blame him, but I was definitely surprised to see him show emotion like that.

I think it was a bang bang play as far as it being a late hit and too close to call

I did not see it in any way as throwing out a knee

The lower body part looked like a clean hit

What I did see that was not mentioned by the announcers was how his elbow came up

In which case it is another example of a lack of respect of opponents
So because you've watched more hockey games than I have and seen worse hits that means that this one wasn't bad? What kind of bizarre twisted logic is that? You also don't know how many hockey games I've watched either. But that being said, it was a fucked up hit, he led with his knee and then threw his elbow up chicken wing style at the last second. If he hadn't have thrown his elbow up, then it's a blatant knee to knee hit, but he somehow gets away with it because of a little upper body contact. For as bad as Brown's hit on Rozsival was though, Doughty and Stoll's hits on Chipchura and Gordon were even worse, and Doughty didn't even get a damn penalty for his. I'm trying to see if I can find a video of it, but it was every bit as bad as the Hanzal hit on Brown in Game 2 that got him a 5min major, game misconduct, and a game suspension.

The officiating in the series was a giant fucking joke.

Yeah, congrats to the Kings for making it to the finals, but none of these officials should join them.

And I'll be rooting against them.

To be quite honest every team has his own "public enemy" that makes no friends..

During the Kings / Canucks series it seems Brown was everyone's favorite guy.. Funny on how that comes back to bite you..

In any case, as far as the referees go, until Bettman is GONE you will not see a proper game of Hockey.. He believes in the two tier system.. One for regular season and one for playoffs..

    Sorry your Coyotes lost..

He wasn't my favorite player. I just enjoyed that hit. He's a cheating dirty fucking player... But the hit on Henrik was clean.

It's okay. That's what next year is for.

I suspect the team will be staying, so it's alright we didn't go all the way this year. Making it to the WCF was a huge deal for this team. I'm already planning on going to the first home game of the year next year so I can see that division champion banner get raised.

I Agree and kudos to the Coyotes for doing so well.. Most years the top teams fall in the first round so I was not quite happy with us winning the President's Cup..

Only the Ranger's are left of the top contenders this year and I still hold to my prediction that New Jersey will be hard to beat in the playoffs.. Something about living in Jersey that makes it worth winning the Cup..

I watched it a a few times. I stick by my opinion. It was a bang bang play.

I did not see it as a late hit issue, or a knee sticking out. I would agree with the elbow coming up. But have seen that called and not called. That has nothing to do with the refs doing a shitty job in the series either. I did not watch any of the games. Just my observation and one who has no dog in the fight

I was not trying to come across as a hockey snob. I have watched hockey since around 1962. There was no local hockey until a UHF channel had Red Wings hockey around 1965 or so. I was able to watch the Canadian coverage on saturday nights before that. We can get into a pissing contest but I am not inclined to do so.

I have seen a crap load worse over the years. Oh make no mistake if it was a game the Wings were playing I would be pissed if it happened to them.

    Gotcha to my Lilypad
