    Default EasterFeast 2012

    What are you having?

Methinks I'm making a spiral ham... I'm not too sure of the rest yet? Depends on what looks good at the store.

I do know that a Cherry Cheesecake is on the Menu in Honour of Roxi's Bday on Sunday

So? Is it Ham? Turkey? Lamb? RoastBeast?

    Inquiring minds want to know....

when my mom was alive she would pull out a ham and a lamb. since family traditions are now created with my new family, Easter is just another day. I am working and the wife will be working from home. I would prefer to have ham if given the option. My ex-sister in law is Greek Orthodox and when we would go to her house she too would do some lamb, chicken, homemade tabouli and assorted veggies.....

Roast beef, with all the good stuff that goes with it: Yorkshire puddings mainly.

I know I have chicken, gravy, yorkshire puddings and vegetables all sitting around in the freezer, so hopefully that!

We're not big on easter though, my family aren't religious so when we were kids it was more about the chocolate eggs than anything else my mum didn't make a big deal about it like she would for christmas.

    I'm having this.

I've been considering making a cake on Saturday for a pudding.

I think my mom is picking up a ham, and I plan to make funeral potatoes...hm, I'll have to see what else she has going on.
Usually we take my mom to the cemetery to put flowers on my grandma's grave but I'm not sure if we'll do all that this year.

I planned to make a tofu chocolate pie with cool whip so I'll do that.
Wanted to make a lemon ricotta pie but I'm not feeling it.

I have yet to ever make lamb. Perhaps one day I will get brave?

Hey, any excuse for a FamilyFeast! That chocolate is included is extra nice

This too sounds good. Cake always works

Again, chocolate always works at Easter Sounds like a plan.

I have bought the ham. I'll get more tomorrow as I realized how wiped I still am from being sick and didn't feel much like trotting around the grocery store. PBBB still turns her nose up at sweet taters (sweet taters & pears were her fav food when she was very small), so I'll probably make another batch of twice-baked tater casserole. I may do asparagus or corn on the cob?

I did pick up some english muffins as Cammie tortures me talking about Eggs Benedict. So I'll be making that w/the leftover ham next week. What's not to love about Hollandaise sauce? Hence the corn idea so we don't get burned out on it w/the asparagus...

I did get some jelly beans for PBBB & everyone a solid chocolate Easter bunny.

Again, my sympathies to those of you working on Sunday BooHiss again.....

Oh man jelly beans. I have a jelly beans problem.
I could easily eat this entire bag in a few handfuls and go tweaking around the neighborhood on a sugar rush

No food for you eh? There's a story there somewhere

Just got back from the last store run... Corn on the cob it is. I even picked up an extra dozen eggs so PBBB could dye em. Even tho she's 'too old for that, mom', I figure if I get it all, she'll decide it's still a little bit fun. Plus MissAddysen can watch her do them. Tho, I think I'll pass on making Deviled Eggs.......

Hope y'alls feasts go as planned and there is no need for slapping your relatives around - unless they enjoy it.

I just bought a bunny-bread at the bakery when I picked up lunch... it just looked too cute to resist!

Umm but Easter is a quiet one for me this year, as my mom is in Scotland and my dad is in North Carolina, and BF's family is too far of a drive for a weekend. We'll probably just make a mini ham & potatoes or something similar. I've been trying to cut back on sweets, but I may cave and pick up some Starburst jelly beans, only cuz they're my FAVORITE haha.

I shall be eating whatever is in the cupboard. Or I will be extremely hungover and have my head down the toilet...
