    SPOILERS IN THIS POST

I feel the show, after some consider it a shaky Season Two Premier is back on track.

Shane's actions on the drug reconnoiter was shocking, pragmatic, but from an ethical stance incredibly self serving. He got the job done, saved Carl, saved himself, but at what moral price??

    And Glen got lucky!

    Sorry, but total bullshit.

If Shane was going to save his ass at the expense of the fat dude, he would of taken the fat dudes request to save himself (Shane) when the fat dude gave him the opportunity to do so in the gym. You don't change your own character after you have already faced death and fear.

Actually I forgot that had happened in the gym, but you don't think there were any moral issues in that situation? If not, why did Shane lie about it when he got back? JK.

    What do you mean?

Post First Half of the Season critique: Nothing significant or consequential occurred after their son Carl was saved other than Glen getting laid and Lori admitting she was pregnant and amazingly Rick on the surface being ok with Shane as the possible father.... Even so, the story dragged a bit with the Sophia issue hanging over it. Not to say that in real life the Sophia issue would have ever been resolved. But, I can see the "boring" critique. I'm into the characters and the premise so I can tolerate it, but they need to pick up the pace for the 2nd half of the season.

I saw the show before I started reading the comic so I'm not bothered by the liberties they have taken from the original story.

    Such as:
    1. Andrea wanting to killing herself and wanting to be able to shoot a gun while in the comic she walked into the story as a marksman with no mental issues.
    2. Andrea and Dale having a sexual relationship. although in the show it is evident Dale is in love with her.
    3. This hesitancy of who has guns, at least initially. In the comic Rick was all for everyone getting gun training even from the start.
    4. In the comics there is an episode devoted to the group wanting to settle down in a subdivision called Willshire Estates... before they discover it is infested with walkers. Shane and Andrea made a brief visit to a sub division looking for Sophia during Season 2.
    5. Sophia is still alive in the comic.

I'm with you. They need to pick it up and go where the first season did. It was relentless. The best part of the last episode was Shane going all crazy.

I guess we shall see come February the result of Frank Darabont being gone and see how it goes! Fingers crossed.

The last couple minutes of the last episode were the best of the season...right up to the part where they pulled my heart out of my chest and trampled it

Yes I was shocked too. If it makes you feel any better, the Sophia subplot is exclusive to the tv show. In the comic when they found a walker, Hershel wanted to put it in the barn and Rick agreed to go along with it however when they opened the door a bunch of walkers burst out and in the melee, two of Hershel's daughters got bitten. So it was his son in the barn and two daughters. He shot all three of them and more or less gave up on the notion that walkers can be saved. However in the comic, the horror is not over for Hershel...

I refuse to get too logical about walkers (zombies) because I think it would ruin the show for me, but if I apply logic, I don't understand how these dead creatures remain animated, without any physiologic support? The most extreme case just a head, still alive, and making noises. Granted this was in the comic and I don't want to mention the context for spoiler reasons. I wonder if they ever address the issue in the story? (I've not read the comic all the way through.) I assume that if something like this happened in real life, due to lack of sustenance, would all be dead in about a month or so.

As has been pointed out to me, zombie stories need some suspension of belief. The 28 Days Later story was real good because those people were not dead, but they kind of acted like a horde of zombies. However I don't remember them eating anyone, just going berserker.

Didn't they address this in the first season when they got to the CDC?
