That was the best UFC card in a long, long time. Who do you all have this Saturday? Edgar or Henderson?

Was a very close fight. I had it for Edgar, but it was hardly a shocking decision.
Cerrone-Guillard was great fun. You can only assume Cerrone will be challenging very soon.
Speaking of which - Bendo vs. Diaz. Discuss.
I feel like Edgar got robbed, he won this one far more clearly than Bendo won the 1st one IMO. Oh well though it happens. I'm not sure what to think of Bendo Vs Diaz, I think if Bendo takes it to the ground he'll win it, if he stands and strikes I think Diaz will take it.
Either way it should be a good fight. Diazes (Diazii?) are rarely in dull ones.
They're exciting but they're not the brightest guys in the game, if their opponents don't fight them the way they want them to they seem to have a really hard time adjusting, example Nick Diaz Vs Carlos Condit, what Nick was doing wasn't working for him but at no point does he make any kind of adjustment. I think that will always be their downfall, a smart fighter with a good gameplan who isn't going to get sucked into a brawl will be a tough fight for them.
A fair point.
I think I might have to take Diaz wherever the Bendo fight goes though. His guard game is up there. Very offensive. If it's improved as much as the rest of his game seems to, it could be frightening.
Yeah Diaz has a very dangerous guard, but at the same time Bendo has never been submitted, Diaz is dangerous wherever it goes but I think Bendo's best strategy would be to try to out muscle Diaz on the ground, like Guida, Stevenson, Rory, and Kim have already done. I'm sure Diaz has improved his strength and wrestling but I think he'll always struggle in that kind of fight.
We'll soon see! Either way it's a fight to look forward to.
How busy is this thread? I'm not being lazy, it's just that navigating the forum on my BB is slow work.
I only ask as I do a Pick 'Em league at my old forum. I know there's MMA Playground, but this is just for the top five fights per event.
If there's enough interest I can always set it up for here.
There's been a movement to get modern Pankration in the Olympics. With amateur rules (head and shin guards, larger knuckle protection) it could eventually happen. Maybe in a couple of Olympics' time.
Not too busy sadly, there is a lack of MMA fans on this board![]()
Strikeforce fights tonight... Rousey/Kaufman headlining, Miesha Tate is on the undercard, and will likely face the winner of the Rousey/Kaufman bout to try and get the title back again. The card looks to be pretty decent all around, certainly not UFC strong, but one of the better Strikeforce cards I've seen in a while.
Unwelcome and unwanted
and the one-trick armbar wins again... a rematch between Rousey and Tate looks to be pretty certain, especially with Cyborg suspended and normally a weight class higher.
Unwelcome and unwanted
Strikeforce really needs to start giving out bonuses for sub, KO, and FOTN.
Unwelcome and unwanted
Strikeforce needs to shut the fuck down so Gil and Rockhold can just move to the UFC and stop wasting their careers
