    Fruits: best in the morning/day
    Whole grains: good all day
Animal protein: good when lean; limit portions of animal protein at night to aid digestion

5-6 small meals per day is good.
My suggestion is to find a calorie calculator online and, with your height, weight, and activity level, find out your maintenance and weight loss requirements. I'd guess 1600-2000 calories per day for weight loss for a male, but that's just a guess.

The foods you've listed are good. Brown rice, oatmeal, berries, apples, all sorts of vegetables, salads, olive oil, lean meats and poultry, seafood.

A 1/2 cup of oatmeal or brown rice is usually the serving size, and meat/poultry/seafood should be like 3-4oz, and vegetables are unlimited, I think a cup is considered a serving, and 1/2 a cup is a serving of fruit.

I know you didn't ask me, but unless it's changed Panacea and I are on the same diet. The portion size on chicken and steak is about the size of a deck of cards. Rice and pasta are 1 cup. I would add some veggies to the meals to help keep you full w/ protein, but other than that it sounds good. As for the oatmeal, if you can, get the old fashioned oats and make it up yourself...the instant stuff is full of all kinds of crazy ingredients and tons of sugar. Oh, and also, add in a small snack in between meals. It keeps your metabolism going and evens out your blood sugar to help control cravings and hunger. Good luck!!!
yep (I figured I might be off with the grain portions, I went without them for so long lol probably not good)
I forgot about the cauliflower mashed potatoes, I may try that in the fall. MM!

Thanks for the input! I think I'm going to be heading to the grocery store. BTW...mashed cauliflower sounds scrumdidilyumptious! I may have to try that.

I had sauteed chicken and the peppery zucchini pasta that I have listed in my Southbeach Diet Recipe thread (except I use Feta Cheese instead of Goat Cheese). YUM!!!

    Pizza Hut.

But only 'cause I worked a full shift and then cleaned house for the next four hours. I deserve a break from cooking (and my poor kitchen deserves one night of cleanliness).
