they say that it really doesn't matter how long you have been smoking. If you are addicted to it then you are addicted to it. They don't really put into account how long you have been smoking.

I quit cold turkey over 20 years ago. It was surprisingly easy but over the past 20 years, watching my family & friends attempt to give up, I have come to one simple conclusion.

If you want to stop smoking, you will.

The problem is that most people, when they first start to give up, use excuses like "I should give up, it's no good for me" or "I should stop to save money", or some other bullshit excuse. It's not until you really want to give up that you will. I know this sounds like crap, but try asking people who have given up. Nobody gives up until THEY want to.

well hypnosis is absolutely legit, couldn't say how it works for smoking and that though, if your body craves it your body craves it. But i'm a fan of strong will and dicipline, if you can't quit smoking by yourself then you deserve whatever you get down the road as a result, it's not that hard.

i guess i can agree on that but my mom quit after her first Heart attact. the doctor gave her a choice. to see her 3 young children and two step kids grow up or continue to smoke and Die. so obviously she chose to quit. thats when i was in first grade. then 16 years later she had another heart attack and needed Quintuple(5) bypass surgery. so all those years of smoking and stress of life took a toll on her back then and then her heart still wasnt strong i guess and needed bypass surgery a little while ago.

but hearing what that doctor told her was reason enough for her to quit.

im not trying to tell you what you should do or not to do. just telling you the reason my mom quit.
