I had a huge amount of respect for Colin Powell. I believed him at that conference. To find out he knowingly lied disappointed the heck out of me. But you never know what he was threatened with if he didn't either......

Just another cue that 'they' view 'us' as Useful Idiots..... Which, half the time I can't blame them for. We act it as a whole.

I read his article and KNEW he was going to take a lot of flak for it. The money didn't like being exposed. They don't accept their blame for the fisaco they perpetrated on this country either.

Matt Taibbi is a tough son-of-a-gun and darned good journalist. He will not knuckle under to this intimidation.

The only gripe I have was his comments that brought down the Viet Nam war. He said that at the conclusion of a news cast. That was his injecting his biased and arguably wrong opinion about the state of the war. It was not news and he had no business doing that in that format. He should have done it on a special.

Sadly, not. We get infotainment designed to ramp up rating, see MJ's passing as a prime example, rather than the events of the day presented free of bias. That still bothers me. What did we miss during that 10 days of MJ worshipping?

That threw two near revolutions off the map. Unconscionable, but not unexpected.

Money talks! There is no money in foreign revolutions, while MJ was fresh anyway.

That's why I prefer independent news blogs. They get articles sent to them from all over the world and they have no corporate/government sponsors telling them what they can and cannot post for consumption of the masses.

Plus, it's fun to see how long an article takes to get to the MSM.. Sometimes days, sometimes weeks, sometimes never. But the breaking stories are always there first.

That's why they require critical thinking skills when reading them.

Tho, I'm not talking about sites that spout nothing but their personal opinions. I'm talking about sites that post articles that people send them from all over the world. News stories. There are a lot of times the UK prints stories about us that we never see. Or other nations.

They never make it past our 'censors' (for lack of a better word). Like Walter mentioned above about the ruling class - if they don't want it printed/discussed, it aint. In the corporate media that is. Remember, that 'corporate' media is only about 5 corporations in total. Not too much to 'control'.

But, it's also nothing new. I used to have a quote from one of the Rothchilds, (I think) back in the late 1800's that spoke to the fact that Freedom of Press had already been long-dead.

That being said, I'd still like to think Walter had integrity.
