they fuggin suck. what is wrong with them. why is it so god damn slow. my internet was faster when i had Verizon DSL. keeps on shutting down on me. take's forever to load pages. i thought cable internet was suppost to be faster.

Time Warner's RoadRunner is pretty fast, though I'm fairly sure if you're with ComCast, it isn't available in your area.

And just so you know, not all cables are created equally. You might be better off with DSL there.

nah i dint hear of them being in my area yet. but do you think if i re install fire fox it might make it faster.

but maybe it has to do with the area im in. kind of a crowded area with lots of apts. and houses. they may have a lot of cable internet customers in the area and ALOT of people may be on now since it is about 10 of 10:00.

by enet cable do you mean ethernet cable cause that could be it too cause it crumbled behind my desk so the cables arent in view. i use 2 of them. i have the one that goes to my computer and the one that goes to my wireless router so i can have 2 computers in my place

You can rule out hardware/os/protocol stack...

Goto a command prompt and type 'netstat -s'. If your having IP problems then you can figure out what is failing from here.

Also do a 'ipconfig /all' and try running a 'tracert' against your dns server/external IP.... ...look for where there is excessive latency.

If your masked behind a router and don't know what your external IP is.. go here.. http://www.dnsstuff.com/ and hit 'tracert'... alot of handy tools available for reverse PD.

ok i did this one netstat -s in my Run thing on windows and a what looks like a black screen which some white text comes up realy quick and then disapears. dint do the other one yet.
