Default Re: Are The Latest Games Worth The Price?

This is where shopping right comes into play Peter. The only games I buy are games that have a large amount of replay value. Mass effect for instance, you have several different ways to end the game depending on your decisions throughout the experience. GTA, when yer bored, blow some shit up. That dont get boring. Fight night games, I still play mine and I bought that shit about a year and some change ago. But I do feel what you're sayin. Alot of the console games of late are only good for a play through. Thats when you use your gamefly or local blockbuster. Do some research before purchase. If you buy a game for sixty bucks and play it rather often for about a years time, it has more than made its money back.

The fact that the price on a game goes down with time, is not much of an argument that they are good or bad games. That is how all merchandise works.

However to address the question, if you've played most games that came out in the 90's when video gaming got going, it is a challenge to come up with new ground breaking content, not impossible, just difficult.

How many ways can you bounce around an arena shooting other players? However every so often a game comes out that is worth the $60 U.S. (and the price is mitigated in that you can sell it when your done.) On my 360, I really enjoy(ed) Gears of War, Bio Shock, Mass Effect, and all of the Halos. I am picky though. I want a demo or a chance to play it before I'm going to spend that much money on a game.

By all that you hold dear on this good earth, I bid you stand, Men of the West!"
