Default Finally living up to my username

In just over 7 months, I'm officially going to get my first Dodge Ram!

Honestly, I'm getting bored and tired with my Explorer. So, I talked to a friend, she wants to buy it for $3500. Once I turn 18(In 7 months), the car is going under my name. I'll get a job(Or try to) some time in November or December, and work to save up some extra money(In addition to the $3500), and once my dad finishes paying off the Explorer, I'm buying a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4!

To be more specific, this one(This is the color, model, size, and type of rims I want to get. My brother has this truck. but the tires are bigger. I just found this picture on Google. But I plan on keeping the normal sized tires, unlike my brother)-

So now I can finally live up to the name "Dodge_Sniper"(No, that doesn't mean I plan on shooting my truck when I get it xD).

Also, my friend is buying me this $400 radio-

This day couldn't get any fucking better!!

no trucks are plentiful up here. We actually use them to drive in the SNOW that you guys go "what the fuck is snow?" then pay your 180 dollar electric bills all year round.

Not to be rude, but I know the statistics about the gas mileage with a Dodge Ram. My best friend has a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500, and my brother(Who's truck I'm basically going to try and get, or close to it) has a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4. I know how much gas will be, and how good or bad the gas mileage is. And you're not the first person to tell me either.

But I'm just tired of driving an SUV, and dumping hundreds of dollars a week into it. My brother's Ram gets much better gas mileage than mine does. Also, like I said, I don't need the space anymore, so I don't want an SUV.

I would have stuck with the explorer. Those old Ram Body styles are fugly! I have an Explorer all wheel drive with the 4.6L V8 engine and I know it gets better gas mileage than a dodge RAM 1500 unless you get the 3.7L V6.

Theres more to engine size to gas mileage. Seriously.

Stop putting your fucking gas pedal through the floor off every light and you'll increase gas mileage by at least 10%.

Check and/or replace your spark plugs, wires and cap. Keep your ties inflated. check your air filter. Change your oil at proper intervals. Keep your wheels balanced. Replace old parts like your fuel pump.

Stop driving like a bat out of hell and you can increase your v8s fuel mileage very easily. The problem with people today is they drive like they're at Daytona on a circle track.

I'm sure he doesn't care if the RAM is fugly to you, he likes it so he's getting it.

Oh my bad. I wasn't aware the MPG ratings and tests were void now? Perhaps on the MPG rating should say, "It all depends on how you fucking drive!". Hahaha
I am aware that several factors can affect MPG significantly. However, EPA tests are designed to reflect "typical" driving conditions and driver behavior. It gives the consumer a good idea of an average figure to go off. Hey, if the kid likes the body style, I say go for it. But with rising gas prices projected and estimated to go up $6 to $8 bucks a gallon in the U.S. next year, you gotta wonder if he's making the best decision. Believe me, I know. I just recently got rid of my Hummer and downsized to an Explorer. The "typical" driving behavior I practice shows a huge reduction in gas consumption.

Those are all estimates... not real world figures.

My car is rated for 26 city, 30 highway. I routinely got over 33 mpg on the highway, why you ask? Because of how I drove it. I didn't slam through the gears every chance I could have.

ESTIMATES mean nothing, Hell the 03-04 Cobras were rated for 12 city 14 highway, and owners routinely got a whopping 6 mpg.

On highway and especially interstate where the cruise control is set for hours, therrrrrre's your sign. These numbers are real world and based on fact. Although I used to have an SVT Cobra and it did seem ridiculous on City mileage.

You didn't catch my point. I got a higher mpg than my car was rated for. A lot of it depends on how you act when you're behind the wheel. They're based off estimates.
