I wouldn't say it's rubbish

It certainly provides noticable improvements to lighting and shading, but then Direct X has never made massive leaps over one version, Direct X 8 had subtle changes from 7, and 9 had subtle ones from 8.. It all adds up.

so being AHEAD of the market is a bad thing?

Granted DX10.1 didn't off much of an upgrade over DX10, but you gotta also realize that not alot of programs even know how to take advantage of that platform yet. Crysis was probably the only game that REALLY took advantage of DX10.

I'm anxious to see what other game developers might have up there sleeves for the next gen programs.

how does it not work properly? The only problem I've had is with past generation games that weren't going to be vista compatible anyways.

The lack of backwards compatibility is annoying, but that's what we all have to face when new OS's come out.

examples would be more convincing...I mean I've played COD4, Steam games, WoW, Starcraft, WC3, C&C decades and Tiberium Wars...I fail to see your point in stuttering FPS. My old EVGA 7800 was able to handle everything stunningly well.

I can only offer my own experiences.

But Vista and DX 10 have given me absolutley no problems. They run just as well as xp and DX9 and look better.

i would agree with that up until I blew my vid card and bought an upgrade, now for the OS to operate properly I have to figure out why my CPU is consistently at max load with this new vid card with the latest drivers.

Once that is fixed then I'll go back to agreeing with you lol

BTW controler...not to be mean or nothing, but If your going to make an argument against something, provide examples, not just "because i say so" type of retorts.

You must ahve some rubbishy cpu! vista in RAm intensive not CPU, maybe u have undelying issues

As for the argument, i prefer it as me voicing my experineces rather than stating facts starting an argument

Don't you have to reactive Vista when you change hardware? I heard that somewhere but I haven't changed any hardware yet so I don't know.
