Default Help!

okay so yesterday i was saying how it was raining inside my apartment right? well now the floor in the masterbedroom is flooded.. its not comming form the window.. its comming form under the carpet.. i called the apartments and they are supposedly sending out a handy-guy but im worried that nothing is going to be done ( that seems to be the track record) and when we 1st moved in they post poned our move in date because they had to replace the carpent .. putting 2 and 2 together i think they knew about this before hand and figured hey we'll just replace the carpet and it'll be their problem from there.. on top of this our front patio is mud caked because the retaining wall is breaking.. we're calling the omaha housing authroity tomorrow and prolly a contract lawyer.. am i being too haste or am i in the right to do all this?? i mean we havent even been here a full month and all this shit is going on..

Are you renting this apartment from a corporation type complex or is this on its own lot where you're basically leasing a house?

Then it's their responsibility, unless your contract mentions liability clauses.

The manager of the complex should allow you to transfer to another building. I know one of our buildings floods when it rains, but it's just the one. There may be a small fee, but if it's in your lease that you can transfer, then if she says no, she's violating your lease and you can get out and move somewhere where the management is better. There are people who supervise her (or him, I guess) that you should be able to get in contact with.
