so this isnt really " news"...
but its more of a question..lOlL..
i was outside just a few minutes ago and i was looking at the stars wondering, what are they REALLY ...?
Likee are they little pieces from the sun falling and eventaully they are all going to fall down and there will be no more sun because its been falling apart for YEARS!! i mean its so big right..and NO ONE has actually been close enough to know what its really made of.That would just be impossible.
Sooo could my little theory be right?

Stars are suns like ours, they emit heat and light. They are off different sizes and shapes, but the reason you see them is they are large enough to be seen by the human eye because they are massive.

Most of that is just common grade school astronomy though.

If I remember correctly, a star is just a bunch of spinning plasma.

omg than the sun is slowlly falling apart and thats how the world will end....the sun will slowly fall apart just like everyother planet does eventually..ANYTHING in this entire world eventaully disinigrates

The sun is not falling apart, thats not how stars die

If I remember correctly, they turn big and red and are called a "red giant". Then they either turn into some white thing or explode into a supernova that can create new stars.

^ Could be wrong, but I think thats right.

Hello. I assume your name is Ashlee, sorry if it's not. Just call me Dre. I wasn't trying to answer your question - I was just being honest. You posted in "Science News" with something completely lacking in scientific understanding - a theory I have never heard before that has no basis - so I replied that you "could not be serious" because I thought it was more likely that you were making a joke.

one - You haven't seen my answers because I only joined a few days ago. This is the first time I have responded to you.

two - As I said, I thought you were joking. I was NOT criticising you. I can't see why you would think I was criticising you in fact. I was merely asking you to clarify whether or not you were joking. I would have more to say about this point but I won't because we don't know each other.

three - I disagree with you. Feigning misunderstanding is a common occurence on the internet. I do not think that it was CLEAR that you didn't know - I do not know you. How as a new person am I supposed to know if you are joking or not, having no knowledge of your posting history? E.G. - You may have been quoting song lyrics.

I can prove this to you by saying that I am still not even sure if you are serious. You have access to the internet - it is hard for me to believe that if you were actually troubled by this idea that you would not have punched the word "stars" into Google. If you had, this would have been the first link returned:
