And his former Lt. Gov, who is now the main man....If fucking worse.

My favorite quote in that whole excellent article is:

This emphatically does not mean that Obama will be a good president and McCain will not. What it does mean is that the whole experience argument is a complete crock.
That's the kind of solid, non-partisan straight talk I can get my mind around, not this tee-total crap in the OP. I'm proud of ya!

That article came off a liberal site. I'd be happy to be proved wrong, but I don't think it would ever see the light of day on a conservative site.

i don't know what the point of this thread is....the constitution doesn't stipulate a certain amount of time served, and there's nothing that's an adequate prerequisite for being the prez....

unless the arguement be made that its less what you believe is right (policy) and more who you know (politics)....then time served might have some bearing on this.

Obama's 143 Days of Senate Experience\
Posted by Cheri Jacobus

Just how much Senate experience does Barack Obama have in terms of actual work days? Not much. From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United State Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate. That's how many days the Senate was actually in session and working.

After 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World, and fill the shoes of Abraham Lincoln, FDR, JFK and Ronald Reagan. 143 days -- I keep leftovers in my refrigerator longer than that.

In contrast, John McCain's 26 years in Congress, 22 years of military service including 1,966 days in captivity as a POW in Hanoi now seem more mpressive than ever. At 71, John McCain may just be hitting his stride.
Don't matter who you vote for Chris, looks like America is getting screwed once again when it comes to the president. Last President I liked was Benjamin Franklin.

An examination comparing McCain's experience as compared to Obama's from Newsweek- A Reality Check on 'Change'.

Quote:
So far the fall campaign has majored in Sarah Palin, with a minor in the false ads launched (though rarely widely aired) by John McCain. Rather than debating whether Barack Obama voted to teach sex education to kindergartners (he didn't) or called Sarah Palin a pig (he didn't), it would be nice if the central dynamic of this contest were about, say, the record and temperament of each candidate. Is that asking too much?

Mulder, what is it about McCain's "experience" that, in your opinion, makes him more qualified to be President?
