It's not working. I'm using this format: (url=http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0408236/)Sweeny Todd(/url) but with square brackets. For some reason this bbcoding is not working.

Does anyone have an idea? Thanks!

Well that link says bbcoding and naming a link should work. Under the URL hyperlinking section it's got the format I'm using *but* it's not working in my posts. Do members normally have the ability to create named links? I do have bbcode turned on in my posts. Very mysterious.

Look at the bottom of the page under Posting Rules. It should show that you have BB code turned on.

And yes, I use named links all the time. Look it over again and make sure there aren't any errors in what you typed.

Thanks for your patience. I see the problem, at least the source of my misunderstanding. What I've been typing is working as a link. The problem is that is does not appear as a link until I run my cursor over it. Other bbcode forums, when links are created, they are designated as links by being underlined so readers will automatically recognize the link without having to trace their cursor over it.

Is it how the forum is set up? Again, thanks. It would be nice though to see links underlined but I'll designate named links with bold text from now on.
