Throttling Back To The Moon http://web.mit.edu/digitalapollo/Doc...r8/setplem.pdf Apollo Lunar Module - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia I've been an absolute space junkie since I was about 5 years old. I've read numerous arguments both for and against the moon landing. Believe me, my opinion is not based in one internet thread.

You don't need to know much about rocket science to know that rockets don't have throttles. This is something you learn in high school. I dunno, maybe you took different classes than I did, or maybe you were away for that part of class. I even linked you to a source, talking about how NASA are still trying to get throttles on rockets. All this I provide to you, yet you still brush it aside for no logical reason.

And this is absolutely amazing! NASA have no idea that they already had this technology! They can't be all too bright over there huh?

Tokenz: 2,204 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Here's a cool link for ya PT: http://www.hq.nasa.gov/office/pao/Hi...StudyGuide.pdf It has mockups of the actual control panels. Page 3 shows the gauge with the % Thrust on it. Page 19 shows the selector switch for either automatic or manual throttle. Here's a diagram that shows the Thrust Translation Controller http://www.fi.edu/pieces/schutte/moo...mcontrols2.jpg And here's another great article explaining why they needed to control the thrust: LM News Reference: Guidance, Navigation and Control Quote:

The Apollo landers used hypergolic propellants, meaning it was two liquids that ignite when they come in contact. At the time it was pretty revolutionary, but now it's "old news". Your article is about cryogenic propulsion, which is the new fad in rocket designs. It's still very much in the testing phase. To the best of my knowledge, no rocket has actually even flown using cryogenic propellants. I'm not a rocket scientist, and I'm sure Evan could probably elaborate quite a bit more, but it's not even close to the same technology.
