µTorrent for sure. If your client is set-up right you'll get great speed from it. Also depends on your connection of course.

A lot of people dislike torrents simply because they have to share to receive. I know a few people that set their upload limit very low (1 - 5 kbps), and wonder why they're getting such slow speeds. Torrents are definitely the best way to share music and movies.

I agree with Synergy about Mininova.. the mods there are great at keeping the place clean. Another is Demonoid. (I have invites if anyone's interested =P).

As for torrenting being dangerous... TAKE OFF YOUR TINFOIL HATS!

Utorrent for me and TorrentZ for finding what I'm looking for. TorrentZ searches multiple sites such as Mininova, Pirate Bay, Sumo Torrent and more.

I take it you haven't discovered the wonders of private trackers?

Mine are always fast, come from a reliable source, gives me what I want, have loads of seeds and people have to seed atleast 1:1.

Getting invitations to most of them are a pain in the arse though. I got lucky with Demonoid.
But yeah, can't say I've had problems with public trackers either. I mean, the only time I get slow speeds is when I'm downloading some shit with only 2 - 3 seeds. Normally rare stuff.

I must concur my public torrents are very reliable, because people like me and my dad seed as much as possible. He seeds like a mad man lol, I seed to a lesser extent. But it's proof that it's not like a community of leechers out there.

And anyway, modern torrents mean leachers get fuck all anyway
