Ok, here's the deal. We're going to create a Fantasy League on ESPN. We can't do that until we have a definite # of people participating. So, if you want to play, make sure you say so by next Friday (March 7th).

Basically, for all you Englishmen and women, it entails picking a certain number of players at each position and scoring the most points. Points are earned for how well the players do in each stats category.

Basically, if you don't know anything at all about baseball, you probably won't win. But who the hell cares, it can still be a lot of fun

And for the record, I don't follow baseball at all so it'll be a learning experience for me too

Allright folks, some light reading for those who want to learn a little bit about baseball stats.

We will start with the Batting Average, on a players stats it is noted as B/A or Avg.

Step 1:
Add up your hits.

Step 2:
Add up your at bats. At bats include every time you hit safely or hit into an out, including a strike out. Getting on base by an error or fielder's choice is considered an out. A Sacrifice, walk or hit by pitch is not counted as a hit or an out.
Step 3:
Divide your hits by your at bats.
Step 4:
Round off the number to the third decimal place. For example, .33051 is .331.

For instance if you had an at bat=AB of 100

And a hits=H of 10

100/10=.100

How about this, if a guy is hitting .250 and above then he is an average player.

.300 and up, he's a keeper.

.300 and up, with 100+ RBI's (runs batted in) and 20+ Home Runs, you need to be washing his feet for him
