StarCraft II was announced this last weekend, and I for one could not be more stoked. I am such a huge StarCraft fan, it's not even possible for me to explain it. To me, StarCraft is the quintessential RTS. It created what we know today as an RTS. WarCraft helped bring the genre to fruition, but StarCraft really cemented the genre as a heavy weight player in PC games.

To finally have a sequel, nearly ten years later, is awesome. Here are some videos from GameTrailer.com, they are absolutely amazing:

I am more excited about this than any game coming out in the next 12-24 months, hands down. StarCraft II is going to rock

(P.S. If any of you ever want to play some BroodWars on-line, let me know. As much as I love StarCraft I am NOT a very good player, I am a turtler who just loves to play. I don't mind getting beat up on a little, hehe).

It's about fucking time Blizzard. I don't really like StarCraft, I prefer WarCraft myself, but still this took way to long. I hate Blizzard for the record.

I agree with you R.A.T Army it's been a long time before they released this one. I hope Blizzard also hurry on releasing the next Diablo series

Blizzard likely will never release another Diablo. The entire creative force behind Diablo (Blizzard North) basically left because of World of Warcraft. They went on to form Flagship Studios who is making Hellgate: London, which is a Diablo-esque action RPG with next gen graphics. Also, it would take players away from WoW, which they won't do. Don't look for Blizzard to release another RPG of any kind until WoW2, or their next MMO (World of Diablo? :P).

No release date yet. You know Blizzard, it will be released "when it's done". They have no problem delaying a release until they feel it's where they want it.

You can always tell when a company is out to make a game and when a company is out to make a buck. Blizzard is always out to make a game!

Blizzard is the absolute master of taking a niche game concept and making it main stream. They did it with RTS's (WarCraft, StarCraft), RPG's (Diablo) and now MMORPG"s (WoW). In all cases, they didn't really innovate, they just took a niche concept and made it accessible to the mass market.
