Castlevania: Symphony of the Night

I forgot how cool this game was. It was an original Playstation title some years back, and has widely been considered one of the best Castlevania games ever (if not the best). I recently picked it up on XBox Live Arcade, but haven't had a chance to really play it. Started playing it again last night, and then again this morning before work, and it rocks. It's one of the best 2D games ever produced. It's a class Castlevania action/adventure platformer, but it adds some RPG elements as well that spice it up. You can change equipment, gain levels, have different trinkets, get magic spells, etc. It's also pretty challenging, it's definitely from an era when game developers weren't afraid to make a game difficult.

Anyways, if you have a 360, I highly recommend spending the MS points to get this one on Live Arcade. It's a real classic and the port runs great. They've fixed a few bugs from the original, added 1000 points worth of achievements and made it wide screen compatible. It's also anti-aliased real nice, so it doesn't look as jaggy as the original.

Alucard, such a wonderful main character. I enjoyed playing this game. I love Castlevania.

i love this game, havent played it for the xbox but i have played the original for the ps1, nd im currently playing dawn of sorrow for the NDS, it still rocks
i been looking for a good copy of the original but not the expensive one

You can get it from the XBox 360 Live Arcade for like 8 bucks.

Castlevenia: Symphony of the Night is really one of the best Castlevenia ever all the special ability, the maze, the item, the story, and the character. And check the ending song it's cool and very solemn! I of course the prologue line " Die human......."

I have one of the castlevania ROMs for my GBA emulator. I just bought an M3 for my DS (Mod chip...) i hope to get it on there so i can take it along to. Fun game. But also looking forward to the homebrew stuff i will be able to put on it. LIKE AIM? AND A WEB BROWSER? Who wouldn't want the M3? =D
