| Guest | I had to post this because a girl (you know who you are) posted about Viva Pinata, so I had to put some manhood back in here. I will admit, this isn't the "best" game out there graphically, but who cares. Its the best online game, period. Some will argue Halo, but screw that. Until you see someone explode in front of you from your shotgun blast and their blood spatter everywhere, the rest of the games are just playing catch-up. Where else can you chainsaw someone or watch their brain flop out on the ground after sniping them? You want some? Come get it. Find me online - AllVenom as the gamertag. |

It's hands down the best looking console game ever released (to this point anyway). It's the game that really defined what the 360 was capable of graphically. Maybe you aren't playing it on an HDTV, but on a 40" LCD in 720p, the game is nothing short of stunning. Oh yah, and it's a good game to boot I am not a big console shooter fan, I prefer to do my sniping with a keyboard and mouse on the PC, but I loved Gears of War. The added tactical element made it really fun to play. |

Tokenz: 295 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | But that's how the 360 was meant to be viewed, in HD. So we aren't looking at some wondrous picture fabricated by our TV, we are looking at the games the way they were meant to be seen. |

Of course, the fact that the PS3 didn't include the basically free anti-aliasing in it's pipeline that the 360 has makes a huge different. 360 games will almost always look clearer and less jaggy. Go look at a screen of Gran Turismo HD, then set it side by side with a screen for Forza 2. It's not even close, Forza 2 looks better across the board. | |

Tokenz: 295 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Oblivion looks damn impressive as well, but it has some issues that take it's crown away and hand it to Gears of War, mostly the popping and snapping at distance. I know, I know, there isn't much that can be done about it if you want a decent frame rate. Though, I tend to play Oblivion on my PC where I have the graphical power to jack the distances up to max and can use the Natural Environments plugin to get rid of 90% of the popping. The only thing that pops in to view on my PC is buildings, and they do it at such a long distance that I can look east from Waynan Prior and actually see the Imperial City. It never actually pops out of view. |

It's hands down AMAZING how it makes the game look. It goes through a makes a bunch of changes to the procedural foilage algorithms, causing the forests to be much more dense and lush, trees to be much bigger, etc. Everything looks far more untamed and realistic. It also changes the water up to make it look more realistic and adds some natural weather effects like rainbows. |
